President
Acoustical Society of China
Dear President:
Each year the Committee for International Research and Education (CIRE) of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) makes grants to students studying for doctoral and master’s degrees in acoustics to help support their studies in their own countries. The International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration (IIAV) collaborates with the ASA in funding these grants. Applications are considered during the fall meeting of the CIRE and the awards are made in the spring of the following year. Grants are for a one-time award of $1,000 USD. It is expected that a total of about 20 awards will be made to students studying in countries around the world again this year.
We request that you share this information with all eligible students in your society and/or institution. Details about the award, including the application process and the application form, appear on the ASA website under CIRE at https://acousticalsociety.org/grants-sudsidies/#CIRE.
Completed application forms should be sent directly to Elaine Moran at asa@acousticalsociety.org by the application deadline of 30 September 2019. Meeting this deadline is essential for consideration of the applications by the CIRE committee at the fall meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in San Diego, California, 2-6 December 2019.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in sharing this information about this funding opportunity as widely as possible.
Best regards,
Vera Khokhlova
